Well, it's Wednesday, the 14th, so that means it's time for another blog update. A lot has been going on in Fat Badger Land the last couple weeks. Fires in Funtown has been doing great, breaking 200,000 plays over at Addicting Games, which is honestly more plays than I ever thought it would get. Although I had no idea how well I thought it would do to begin with! But once the hoopla died down, I was back to work on more games.

Blobulous in the Kingdom of Blobolonia has been demoted to "backburner" status. The game is going to be so big and epic, that I'm going to be spending a long time on it. I haven't stopped working on it completely; I actually added another level and got halfway through a cut scene (there're cut scenes?!) the other day. However, I won't be devoting nearly as much time to it, as I have a few other games I'd like to see happen first.

Speaking of other games, Mirror Mayhem is about 97% complete. I have all of the bugs worked out (hopefully!), 12 levels completed, and I plan to have a total of 25 levels. I went ahead and added a couple more screenshots to the Upcoming projects page, so you can take a look at how it's progressing. It's a thinkers game, definitely a change of pace from the action-oriented Fires in Funtown.

I also have a new game in the works. I have no screenshots of it yet, however it is progressing nicely, and I anticipate that this one will get completed fairly quickly. It's going to be back to the good ol' action game genre with this one.

Catch you guys on the flipside!

Oh, what a day. Not only is it Friday, which is fantastic, but it is also the day that Fires in Funtown is launched over on Addicting Games. As of this post, it has had over 50,000 plays, which is a definite first for Fat Badger Games. Thanks to everyone who helped the game get to where it is now, and thank you to everyone who played and enjoyed the game!

I would also like to mention that today is my sister Bekah's 24th birthday. She is currently in Germany, living with a family and working as their children's nanny. Happy Birthday, Bekah!

As far as what's to come goes, Mirror Mayhem is coming along nicely and should be finished fairly quickly. As to when you'll actually get to play it, that's another story. MM is sort of a side-project, used as a diversion from my current main project, Blobulous in the Kingdom of Blobolonia.

Lastly, the Music section is now up. Basically, Lon is Fat Badger's official musician. Aside from Fires in Funtown, he has done the music for all current and upcoming games, and now you can download his music, so enjoy.

Until next time, goodnight.......and godspeed.

"What have you been up to for the last few days, Ben?", I hear you ask loudly. Well, the answer is simple.

WORKING ON A GAME!

This new game, which I'm adding to the Upcoming projects page, is a puzzle game involving mirrors and lasers. Good, old fashioned mirrors and lasers. I'm not going to reveal too much, but I will say that the project is nearing the end of the development phase and will soon go to beta testing. It's been an interesting project, and I'll see about doing a post-mortem once it's done and ready to play.

It's called Mirror Mayhem, by the way. Because it involves mirrors, and they reflect various sources of light, such as mayhem-inducing lasers. Good stuff. Peace out, homies.

Second posts in a blog are hard as well. Especially when you are a different person than the first poster, and you have no avatar yet. This forces me to use an avatar that looks nothing like me and probably, without them even realizing it, makes the reader think that the person writing this right now is in fact the same guy who wrote the first blog entry.

Ok, lets get down to brass tacks. I am currently having no relationship troubles, yay! And I happen to be eating a most-delicious cookie. No, there was no point at all for this post.

Lon, I had no idea you played tennis in the dark.

First posts in a blog are always difficult. Do you go with the "Hi, this is my first post!" type of comment, or do you simply pretend that you have been blogging for ages now and ignore the fact that nobody knows who you are. How dare they question you? You have a blog! You can't be bothered with any of that tomfoolery, just hit the post button and be done with it.

Anyway, I'll be posting here and there, whenever I can come up with something moderately interesting or if I have any game updates. I don't intend for this to be the sort of "relationship troubles" or "I've got a really good ham and cheese sandwhich" type of blog, as there are enough of those out there. Although I suppose if I get enough requests to post what I'm eating....well, anything's possible!
